CD Baby (part of AVL Digital, a Downtown Music Holdings company) is now searching for an Account Manager in the Creator Services department based in London, UK. This role help manage music release campaigns and add value to CD Baby’s most important artists, managers and labels. Successful candidates will possess an existing relationship with editorial staff at streaming services, excellent communication skills, exemplary attention to detail and thrive with varied tasks from frequent high-profile artist releases.

 

Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Managing relationships with key clients in the UK and Europe, including building the campaign plan, executing the campaign plan operationally, communicating opportunities, assisting with issues and questions and optimizing the promotional pitches
  • Grow the key client roster in the UK and Europe through proactively engaging with managers, lawyers and artists as well as serve as the UK/Europe Business Development contact for inbound priority contacts within AVL Digital
  • Tracking and reporting on release progress and results with clients and coordinating follow-up promotions
  • Enrich artist releases with the evangelizing of successful release planning, marketing tools (Show.co, HearNow, external products), seeking out opportunities and being fully aware of the clients’ plans
  • Liaising with teammates and other department members for proactive onboarding of new clients
  • Support Creator Services team promotions to CD Baby’s digital partner companies (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, etc.) in the UK and Europe centered around the role’s key clients and meeting all necessary deadlines as they arise
  • Working with Account Managers, Digital Operations and other teams to execute release plans
  • Prospecting for Creator Services clients using data and other resources
  • Proactive engagement with top artists to build relationships, add value to the artist campaigns and strengthen retention
  • Expand brand awareness for CD Baby’s distribution, monetization and promotional services and expand the brand awareness of AVL Digital companies (primarily CD Baby, AdRev, Show.co, Ad Builder, DashGo, Soundrop and HearNow)
  • Possessing a firm understanding of iTunes Style Guidelines and striving to ensure all key account submissions for promotion adhere to music service requirements
  • Assisting with strategic projects and priorities that serve to increase visibility for CD Baby artists (whether individual or catalog-wide), maintain or earn a competitive advantage in the industry, and/or attract high profile clients to the CD Baby family of brands
  • Collaborating with manager, project teams and members of the IT team to improve existing processes, introduce new features, as well as lead department projects and initiatives as needed
  • Consistently prove an outstanding ability to set and meet deadlines independently while exhibiting a high-level of initiative for opportunities?
  • Interest in new marketing trends, opportunities and strategizing ways to benefit clients and CD Baby’s business
  • Follow proper security guidelines to ensure safety procedures are followed according to company policies
  • Supporting continuous improvement, LEAN, and other process improvement/efficiency efforts
  • Participating in kickoffs, meetings, training, and projects as requested
  • Assisting and collaborating with other departments when needed
  • Completing other projects and tasks as assigned
  • Flexibility in work hours – must be able to work non-standard schedule to attend trade shows, industry events, and to generally meet the needs of artist releases as needed
  • Some travel may be required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with music managers and artists as well as digital partner companies (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, Pandora, etc.) in a promotional, client service, management and/or sales role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with some HTML/XML experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both in a B2B and B2C environment
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and extremely motivated
  • Ability to self-manage and multi-task with to balancing and prioritizing workload in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Proactive and positive approach with ability to independently initiate tasks and follow through to completion
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building relationships
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Diligence managing promotions for a range of clients with excellent follow-through
  • Robust and ongoing understanding of the music industry, including music licensing, copyright law and key trends affecting CD Baby as well as its digital partners

Qualifications:

  • Based in London, UK
  • Educational Requirements: As a minimum, University Degree or Equivalent
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of music industry experience that must include account management/promotional/marketing experience in one or more of the following environments: record label, distributor, marketing/promotions company, artist management, digital retailer, public relations
